New tourism activity in Nelson Mandela Bay

Executive Director of Economic Development Tourism and Agriculture, Anele Qaba; Councillor Andrew Whitfield; Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism CEO, Mandlakazi Skefile; owners of The Stampede, Mr and Mrs Lochhead; and owner of the Blue Pearl, Mr Maclean.
Stampede Cruises and the Blue Pearl will offer waterfront cruises and island cruises around Algoa Bay.
Stampede Cruises offers day tours on a catamaran, either seated on the sheltered bridge deck saloon or upfront on the trampoline. The leisure tour takes guests on a trip to the Cape Recife Lighthouse, around the shipwrecks in the area, and back past the bell buoy.
The Blue Pearl offers trips for up to eight passengers around Algoa Bay to St Croix, Jaheel and Brenton Island, or further afield to the Bird Island group. There, guests will learn about the history of each of the various colonies of seals and penguins on the islands. On the way back, Blue Pearl passes the bell buoy where guests can take a dip in the sea if they wish.
Guests also have the option of being dropped off at Algoa Bay Yacht Club or Shisas’, the South African restaurant in the harbour, for a beverage or snack.
